MOLDAVIAN CYCLING FEDERATION

The Moldavian Cycling Federation (FCRM) is a public sports organization founded in late 1993. Today it includes 8 members. The Moldavian Cycling Federation is recognized by the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Moldova, by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research of the Republic of Moldova, as well as by the International Cycling Union (UCI) and the European Cycling Union (UEC) as the exclusive organization in Moldova having priority right to control the development of cycling at the national level.

Road cycling

The most popular professional form of cycling discipline, held on paved roads. Olympic discipline since 1896. Major Cycling Races: Tour de France, Giro d’Italia, Vuelta a Espana.

Mountain Biking

A mountain bike is a bike of a special design, designed for riding on rough terrain, off-road (although it does not exclude the opposite). This broad concept also combines the names of several sports disciplines.

Freeride

Is a discipline of mountain biking closely related to downhill biking and dirt jumping focused on tricks, style, and technical trail features. It is now recognized as one of the most popular disciplines within mountain biking.

BMX

Is a cycle sport performed on BMX bikes, either in competitive BMX racing or freestyle BMX, or else in general on- or off-road recreation. BMX began when young cyclists appropriated motocross tracks for fun, racing and stunts, eventually evolving specialized BMX bikes and competitions.

Trial biking

Дis a mountain bike discipline consisting in overcoming obstacles on a bicycle. Obstacles can be very different, natural or artificial: parapets, stones, logs, boards. The main goal is to overcome a series of obstacles without leaning with your legs, arms, or other parts of the body.

Last Sunday, the Open Championship of the city of Tiraspol, dedicated to the memory of the honored coach Yu.S. Mirkin, ended. The championship was held from April 8 to 10 on the Dubossary highway and is the first stage of the Moldova Cycling Cup 2022. Results of regular reporting and election General Assembly held on 4th of March, 2022

On Friday, March 4, 2022, within the framework of the regular reporting and election General Assembly, elections were held for the President of the Moldavian Cycling Federation, as well as other executive structures. The current president of the Federation, Igor Sorin, was unanimously re-elected as president for the next four years (until 2026). As part of the cycling development program for 2022-2026, presented at the General Assembly, positions were announced on the regional development of cycling in the country, expanding the national calendar for all ages, attracting new financial partners, building a BMX track and developing this Olympic discipline, and also to expand contacts with international structures in order to obtain technical support and integrate the Moldavian Cycling Federation into the governing structures of the European and International Cycling Unions.
