MOLDAVIAN CYCLING FEDERATION

The Moldavian Cycling Federation (FCRM) is a public sports organization founded in late 1993. Today it includes 8 members. The Moldavian Cycling Federation is recognized by the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Moldova, by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research of the Republic of Moldova, as well as by the International Cycling Union (UCI) and the European Cycling Union (UEC) as the exclusive organization in Moldova having priority right to control the development of cycling at the national level.

Road cycling

The most popular professional form of cycling discipline, held on paved roads. Olympic discipline since 1896. Major Cycling Races: Tour de France, Giro d’Italia, Vuelta a Espana.

Mountain Biking

A mountain bike is a bike of a special design, designed for riding on rough terrain, off-road (although it does not exclude the opposite). This broad concept also combines the names of several sports disciplines.

Freeride

Is a discipline of mountain biking closely related to downhill biking and dirt jumping focused on tricks, style, and technical trail features. It is now recognized as one of the most popular disciplines within mountain biking.

BMX

Is a cycle sport performed on BMX bikes, either in competitive BMX racing or freestyle BMX, or else in general on- or off-road recreation. BMX began when young cyclists appropriated motocross tracks for fun, racing and stunts, eventually evolving specialized BMX bikes and competitions.

Trial biking

Дis a mountain bike discipline consisting in overcoming obstacles on a bicycle. Obstacles can be very different, natural or artificial: parapets, stones, logs, boards. The main goal is to overcome a series of obstacles without leaning with your legs, arms, or other parts of the body.

Signing of the Memorandum of Friendship and Cooperation between the Cycling Federations of the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Poland

Yesterday, on June 4, in Chisinau, the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Friendship and Cooperation between the Cycling Federation of the Republic of Moldova and the Cycling Federation of the Republic of Poland took place. The event was attended by: President of the Cycling Federation of the Republic of Moldova – Igor Sorin, Vice President of the Cycling Federation of the Republic of Poland Sebastian Rubin, Vice Consul Maciej Kowalczyk and Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Moldova Bartlomiej Zdaniuk. In accordance with the agreement, the parties agreed to promote the strengthening of dialogue and interaction between the Cycling Federation of the Republic of Moldova and the Cycling Federation of the Republic of Poland, the implementation of joint projects and programs that have a positive impact on cycling, the exchange of practical experience in the entire spectrum of areas of mutual interest. The parties also discussed the development of special sites for the younger generation and cycling infrastructure in general. “We are glad to cooperate with the Polish Cycling Federation. This is a real opportunity to exchange experience and develop cycling in the Republic of Moldova with the support of foreign professionals”, – the President of the Cycling Federation of the Republic of Moldova Igor Sorin commented on. Cooperation will be aimed at the development of children’s and youth cycling, the development of infrastructure for young athletes and the expansion of the local Calendar.

The Cycling Federation of the Republic of Moldova expresses its gratitude to the UCI for the trust and much-needed assistance. We are very pleased that our application for the solidarity program has been selected, and now the Federation has got new bicycles, spare parts, bicycle uniforms and much more. It is really important for the development of cycling in Moldova. We would like to thank UCI President Mr David LAPPARTIENT, Vice Presidents of UCI, as well as all the participating countries and all the sponsors, thanks to which countries like Moldova can receive assistance for the development of cycling. The Federation also expresses its gratitude to UEC and Rocco CATTANEO, Vice Presidents of UEC and General Secretary Enrico DELLA CASA.
